Learn more about each step below.

Step 1: Check your windows/door panes are suitable for our service

To book, you need to figure out how many panes your have and that they are suitable for film.

First – Count your panes

To book you need to know how many panes you require filming.

A window pane is:

  1. One uninterrupted sheet of glass.
  2. Sitting vertically within the window frame.
  3. The glass surface is completely flat (this means there is raised lead patterns or decorative bars stuck to the glass).
  4. Must be less than 1.2m x 1.2m.

A door pane is:

  1. One uninterrupted sheet of glass.
  2. Sitting vertically within a door frame.
  3. The glass surface is complete flat (this means there is raised lead patterns or decorative bars stuck to the glass).
  4. Must be less than 1.2m x 2.5m.

Next – Check your glass is suitable

The majority of homes in Norfolk have double-glazed uPVC windows or standard single-float panes – both of these are perfect for our window film.

However, to ensure the thermal properties of the film work safely with your glass, we cannot install film to:

  • Triple-glazed windows
  • Frosted or patterned glass
  • Georgian wired glass
  • Polycarbonate (plastic windows)

Applying film to these specific glass types can cause thermal stress or improper adhesion, which is why they are excluded from our standard booking service.

Finally – Check Installation Safety & Access

To ensure a safe and perfect installation, we require all glass to be easily reachable using our standard equipment. We cannot fit film if any of the following apply:

Obstructed access: There must be enough clear floor space for our installer to stand directly in front of the window.

Slanted or overhead glass: The window must sit completely upright (vertical). We do cannot film conservatory roofs, skylights, roof lights, or sloped mezzanine windows.

High-reach glass: The very top of the window pane must be within 2.5m (8ft 2in) from the floor of the room.

These sizes and guidelines maintain our quality of service and ensure every installation is achievable.

Don’t fit these standard criteria?

Don’t worry! We can often accommodate larger windows, high-reach glass, or alternative glass types via a custom quote. Please send us an email and we will be happy to discuss how we can help.
